Improve the Visibility out of the Windshield

When you drive you will want to make sure the vehicle is in the best condition possible. You will want to make sure that you bring the vehicle in for regular maintenance inspections. One part that we can inspect is the windshield. The windshield, for many drivers, is the most used item of their entire automobile. It is also one of the biggest parts of keeping drivers safe on the road. It is all that stands between drivers and the open road. Most blades are not hard to snap off and replace, nor are they expensive. An inspection of the wiper blades also is easy, simply run your hand and your eyes on one at a time and feel along for holes in the edge or torn pieces of rubber that could render the windshield wiper ineffective. If it leaves significant streaks or does not appear to be hugging the contour of the glass, than it might be time to look into a replacement wiper blade. One item that goes along with the windshield and the windshield wiper blades is the washer fluid that will help them clean. Often green or turquoise, this fluid is one of the ones that should be checked before any likely adventure in the rain or in questionable weather. Windshield washer fluid keeps bugs from impeding your vision as a driver, and thus allows you better vision of the road and better planning when obstacles come up. In the event that the unthinkable does happen though, and your windshield does require repair or replacement, there are many options available and some of them do not even require a direct fee. If you have full coverage of your vehicle, most of the time little cracks and even possibly big ones are entirely covered by the insurance. It is recommended to have the windshield replaced as soon as you start to notice damage or issues to it. Cracks and divots can impair your vision. This may allow you to not see an object in the road ahead. Cracks and chips will typically grow and get larger as time passes. There can be repairs to the windshield if the chip is small enough and caught early. If you notice any issues, make sure to contact us and we can inspect the windshield for you.

Causes of Windshield Damage

The windshield is a key structural component of your car. Unfortunately, it is in a particularly vulnerable position that leaves it exposed to damage from a variety of sources. Learning some of the most common causes of a windshield chip can help you avoid hazardous situations and keep the glass intact. Flying Rocks Road construction materials all contain rocks of various shapes and sizes. With weather fluctuations and everyday wear and tear, it is inevitable that some work loose from the road surface over time. When these stray rocks get caught in the tires of fast moving vehicles, they are hurled back into oncoming traffic. These airborne rocks are one of the most common causes of a windshield chip. It is recommended to maintain a safe distance from semi trucks and other big vehicles as they can send quite a few rocks flying, which increases the chance of windshield damage. Vehicle Cargo Debris All sorts of small items can fly off the back of both commercial and private vehicles, as they are moving down the road. If a load is not covered and secured properly, any cargo that comes loose becomes a flying projectile that can damage the windshield of any motorist who is following too closely. Even if the debris lands harmlessly on the road, another vehicle can kick it up and send it hurtling toward your windshield. Storms and Severe Weather Any items caught up in the high winds that accompany severe weather can becomes airborne missiles, including rocks, tree branches and roadway debris. If you are caught in a hail storm, the fast-moving frozen precipitation could chip or even crack the windshield. The best way to avoid danger is to get off the road and park the car under cover or inside a garage until the weather improves. Fixing a chip as soon as possible can help prevent further damage due to weakened glass or cracking that requires a more costly windshield replacement. It can also help you to have better visibility, because the crack or damage will not impair your vision when you drive. If you ever notice an issue with the windshield, make sure to schedule an appointment so we can inspect it for you.

Improve Visibility, Starting with the Windshield

When you drive you will want to make sure the vehicle is in the best condition possible. You will want to make sure that you bring the vehicle in for regular maintenance inspections. This way we can look at parts and components of the vehicle to ensure they are working properly.   One part that we can inspect is the windshield. The windshield, for many drivers, is the most used item of their entire automobile. It is also one of the biggest parts of keeping drivers safe on the road. It is all that stands between drivers and the open road. Even in places where poor weather is prominent, a little maintenance and a little attention can go a long way in making sure that the windshield of the vehicle is safe and well taken care of. The single cheapest ways to make sure your windshield stays in good shape is to replace your windshield wiper blades often. Most blades are not hard to snap off and replace, nor are they expensive. An inspection of the wiper blades also is easy, simply run your hand and your eyes on one at a time and feel along for holes in the edge or torn pieces of rubber that could render the windshield wiper ineffective. If it leaves significant streaks during a rainstorm or does not appear to be hugging the contour of the glass, than it might be time to look into a replacement windshield wiper blade. One item that goes along with the windshield and the windshield wiper blades is the washer fluid that will help them clean. Often green or turquoise, this fluid is one of the ones that should be checked before any likely adventure in the rain or in questionable weather. Windshield washer fluid keeps bugs from impeding your vision as a driver, and thus allows you better vision of the road and better planning when objects or obstacles come up. Make sure to bring the vehicle in for a proper inspection.

Replacing Broken Lights on the Vehicle

It is easier than you might think to smash a headlight or taillight on your car. You might reverse into a parking space and not see a pillar or rail sticking out ready to crunch into your taillight. If this happens, always make sure to replace the taillight or headlight as soon as you can. If a light is smashed and damaged, chances are the blinker will not work as well. This is a safety hazard because the vehicles around you will not know which way you would be turning. This can also lead to an accident that could have been prevented.   Check the Lights Regularly   If the bulb has been smashed you will need to replace it. If you do not do so, you could be stopped by the police and asked to replace it. You may even get a ticket in some cases. The same applies to the actual casing around the bulb. If half of it is missing and the other half is in tiny shards, you are not going to be able to do a proper repair job. However, you might occasionally get lucky and find that your taillight is merely scratched or cracked. If this is the case a minor repair job may be all that is needed to repair it sufficiently.   Improving Safety   Another important thing to think about if you do have a smashed headlight or taillight is that it will reduce your level of safety on the road today. Also make sure that the headlights are aligned properly. If the headlight is facing the center of the road you might think this would not be a problem. This can cause an issue because other people will be less likely to see where you are. Having the lights fixed can improve the safety and reliability of the vehicle.
