With all the time your family spends in your car, truck or SUV, you know how important it is to have a safe and reliable vehicle. There are a few items you should check in order to have a safe and reliable vehicle. Check your wiper blades Check air pressure in spare tire Windshield washer fluid Brake fluid Coolant/Anti-freeze Replace air filter Check battery terminals Check all lights We can also inspect the belts, hoses, and tires of your vehicle. This way we can look for any sign of damage or wear to them. If you notice the vehicle pulling in one direction or the other when you drive, it could be an issue with the tires or the steering. Going back to school can be an exciting time for all our children from pre-school to college. Knowing that your vehicle is ready to take them wherever they need to go is reassuring. Make sure to schedule an appointment to increase the safety and performance of your vehicle this year.

Brake Inspections for your Vehicle

One way to help increase the safety of it is to bring the vehicle in for regular maintenance inspections. This is important because we can inspect the parts and components of the vehicle for any issues. Having the issue fixed at the first sign is important because it can help reduce problems in the future. This will help save you time, money, and stress in the long run. Part of inspecting your vehicle also includes checking the brake system. The brakes are an important part because it allows you to slow down, make safe turns, and also to stop. If you are unsure about your brakes, either look to see what type of shape they are in, or call us to have them inspected.   Since checking the brakes takes a small amount of time, this should be a high priority. It is one of the easiest ways to keep you and your passengers safe without doing a complete vehicle overhaul. It is more than worth the time and effort to have peace of mind. Besides, you can always learn how to check the basics yourself, that way you will know your brakes are ready and running at any moment, especially during rain or when planning to drive on rough terrain. If you notice any grinding or odd noises from the brakes, make sure to contact us as soon as you can. This will reduce the chance of further issues happening with the brakes and your vehicle.   Maintaining and up keeping your brakes in proper working order is one of the cheapest and practical ways to ensure the safety of your vehicle. If you slam on your brakes often, it could cause them to wear out sooner than they typically should. By having the brakes checked regularly, we will be able to determine the overall condition they are in. Remember to check your brakes often, and they will thank you by remaining reliable and glitch free. This can provide you with a safe and pleasant driving experience this summer.

Checking the Fluids in your Vehicle

It is important to inspect the fluid levels on a regular basis. If you do not check the fluids, it can lead to damage of parts in the vehicle. Engine oil lubricates and maintains the components within your engine, helping to prevent heat that can destroy the parts within. Coolant keeps engines from overheating, as well as from freezing, not matter the environment. Windshield washer fluid helps preserve our ability to operate the vehicles safely as well as protects our windshield. Engine oil lubricates your vehicles transmission and internal parts, keeping them running without getting damaged. It forms a thin surface covering that allows engine parts to run efficiently. It also helps seal all the little gaps in the metal can take away from the efficiency of your engine, while lubricating the metal parts that pass through each other, thus limiting the friction and heat within the engine. The other big task that motor oil does is that it cleans. By passing through the engine, oil picks up the debris that can hinder engine performance, such as little particles of sand or carbon given off by the firing of the cylinders. The particles are then deposited in the oil filter. Antifreeze and coolant are essentially a mixture. Ideally, they are 50/50 proportioned within each other so that an engine can make the greatest use of both. Coolant and antifreeze is a fluid that should be checked before any long trip because in extremely hot or cold conditions, the engine can loose power due to a lack of it, causing the driver to be stranded in rough conditions. Remember that you should never remove the radiator cap while the engine is hot. This will cause bad burns from the steam and gases being released toward you should you do so. Also remember to check the windshield washer fluid. It is usually blue or turquoise in color and is primarily used by drivers on the road while they actually drive. ┬áIt effectively cleans off most objects that become engrained on the windshield while in normal transit. By having windshield washer fluid, you can remove any dirt, grime, and debris that might be on the windshield of your vehicle when you drive.

Inspect the Belts and Hoses of Your Vehicle

Having the vehicle in the best condition possible is important. Your engine relies on many different parts in order to generate power as well as making sure that the power is translated into the ability to drive. The best way to make sure that you are getting everything that you will need from your engine is to make sure things like belts and hoses are being checked regularly. These can get worn out very quickly through regular use of the engine.   It is important to know what you are looking for as well as how to replace these. With the right kind of help, your engine will be able to operate correctly at all times. You will notice an improvement immediately in performance whenever you do. There are a few things that your engine relies heavily on belts and hoses to operate correctly. Among the different things that rely on hoses is the carburetor. Additional belts will include the belt to the alternator that will generate the energy that the engine will need in order to provide electricity throughout the car while you are driving.   Having the belts and hoses inspected will improve the efficiency of the vehicle when you drive. The more frequently you are having these checked, the more likely it is that your engine will operate correctly. Make sure to follow the recommended schedule for how often the belts and hoses should be inspected. This way you can ensure your vehicle is working the best it can be. If you are not sure how often to bring the vehicle in for an inspection, make sure to contact us and we can advise you on a schedule.   If the belt starts to thin or is getting dry and cracking, it has the possibility that it will snap at any time. Hoses like the ones leading in and out of the carburetors will possibly get brittle and crack over time as well. These should be checked to make sure that they are also secured tightly using gaskets in good condition as well as clamps which are tight around the hoses. Since these can deteriorate rapidly, it is important to replace them at the first sign of a problem. Make sure to bring the vehicle in at the first sign of any issue so we can inspect it for any wear or damage it might have.
