Drive with Care on Busy Roads

While driving on winter roads, make sure to slow down and take necessary precautions. Know what the weather will be doing and what conditions the roads will be in. If either are in less than ideal condition, make sure to slow down and drive at a speed you are comfortable at. Maintaining control of the vehicle is important so you can help avoid an accident. It is important to bring your vehicle in for regularly scheduled maintenances so we can inspect it for any parts that should be repaired. If you notice anything out of the norm with the vehicle, make sure to bring it in so we can repair it before it becomes too costly.   One thing to remember is not to tailgate. This is because if the vehicle in front of you has to stop suddenly, you will have to come to a quick stop as well. If you follow too closely to the vehicle in front of you, there could be an accident. It is recommended to leave a space of at least three seconds between you and the vehicle in front of you. If the road conditions are less than ideal, the distance should be doubled or tripled. This can help provide an adequate amount of space that is needed for a safe stop. You will also want to leave enough room between you and the vehicle in front of you. Also be aware of the speed limit. When the road conditions or weather conditions are less than ideal, make sure to adjust the speed you are driving accordingly. You should feel comfortable while driving, while also making sure you can handle the vehicle. If the traffic is heavy and is bumper to bumper, slow down. Driving at the correct speed can also help your tires to last longer. You can also take a few minutes and inspect the tires. The tires should be properly inflated and have the correct amount of tread on them. If you notice an issue with any of the tires, make sure to schedule an appointment and bring the vehicle in for an inspection.   Also check the windshield for any cracks or divots that it might have. If there is damage to the windshield, it could impair your vision. Make sure to have it repaired or replaced as soon as you can, this can help improve the visibility as you drive. Also make sure the headlights are clear. Not only do headlights improve your visibility, but they also help to alert people where you are. Also check the blinkers. This can improve the safety for you and those around you. Without working turn signals, drivers around you will not know which way you will be turning. By having working lights, you can improve the safety as you drive.

When to Change the Windshield Wipers

Having the best visibility possible is important for when you drive. This helps you to see what may be on the road when you drive to help reduce the chance of an accident. One of the first things you should check is the windshield. It should be free of any cracks, divots, or and other damage. If it needs to be replaced, this should be done as soon as you can. Having the best quality windshield will help improve the safety of your driving. Also make sure to inspect the windshield wipers on the vehicle. They should also be in good condition. If there is any damage to them, make sure to have them replaced as soon as you can. Noticing an issue with them is another indication that a new set of windshield wipers would be needed.   The windshield wipers should be inspected on a regular basis. If you notice that they operate poorly or are less effective, make sure to have them replaced as soon as you can. Windshield wipers are inexpensive, so they should be replaced at any sign that they are no longer efficient. Ways to notice an issue is any smear or smudge marks they leave behind as they operate. This could indicate that there are rips or tears on the wiper blades. This would cause less effectiveness when they operate. Also be aware of any vibrations or chattering you might notice from the wipers. This could mean that the arm is bent as well.   When you check the windshield wipers, also check the wiper fluid. This fluid is important because it works together with the windshield wipers to remove any dirt or road grime that might be on the windshield. This should be topped off on a regular basis, as well as before any long road trip you may take. If you notice any issue with the windshield or windshield wipers, make sure to bring the vehicle in so we can inspect them for you. If the wipers need to be replaced, we can do that so your visibility improves.
